Year Long Schedule

The Spanish Dual Language Immersion program at Bridger Elementary is 50/50 and language instruction will be held in two separate classrooms where students will receive English instruction for 50% of their day, and Spanish instruction for 50%.  In the past, we have switched our Blue and Red groups at the beginning of spring where if your child began their morning in English the first part of the year they would continue in Spanish in the morning for the remaining part of the year.

We are excited to announce our schedule change this year! We will be having a “rollercoaster” schedule in which we will switch classes every morning in both English and Spanish as opposed to once in the spring. For example, if your child is in the Blue class, they will begin in Spanish with Maestra Reyes in the morning, then they will switch and Red class will be in Spanish for the afternoon while Blue Class is in English with Mrs. Harward.

If your child is in the Red class, they will begin their day with English with Mrs. Harward, and end in Spanish with Maestra Reyes.

 The following day, the students will start in the place they finished the previous day. There will be a sign outside our classrooms to remind students where their Red or Blue class is at any part of the day. Every morning they will be in a different language, as opposed to being only in English or Spanish for the morning time or afternoon.

The following represents the first two weeks of Spanish and English DLI, as well as where the Red or Blue Class will be on those days.

We hope with the daily switching students will not be exposed to one specific language in the mornings or afternoons. Both languages will be taught on alternating days during the week and we hope the change will keep the students excited and engaged in whichever classroom they are in during their time with us.
